Lisa, the n.1 fan of Reggiana from the US
As soon as Mike Piazza became the owner of Reggiana, the interest or more simply the curiosity about the "granata" soccer team certainly raised. In fact the third division italian club had to deal with about 30 season tickets ordered from the US for 2016/17 championship.
During the last 12 months the number of american fans grew up very fast thanks to social media and Lisa Pendleton is one of them: she lives in Garden City, GA, where she is a teacher and in her free time she soon became the US number one fan of Reggiana on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Lisa, in order to explain your passion for Reggiana we have to start from the beginning: how long have you been following Mike Piazza?
«Since his first debut in MLS with Los Angeles Dodgers, September 1st, 1992. I was at home watching tv, I turned the channel and the Dodgers happen to playing: Mike was up to bat and I was hooked! I also remember Mike's first homerun, September 12, 1992 against San Francisco Giants».
What were you first thoughts when Mike Piazza announced the acquisition of Reggiana?
«I was thrilled, I thought it was the best thing in the world».
In the US what people think about Mike Piazza's adventure as a soccer team owner?
«According to social media and friends here in the US, they are also like me».
Were you a soccer fan before knowing Reggiana?
«Not really, but now I am».
How many matches of Reggiana did you watch during last season?
«It's hard to get a live feed so I try to watch on Sportube.tv but I do keep up with it through social media. I also have some Reggiana fans that keep me posted».
How did you get in touch with them?
«Always through social networks. Stefano Cavazzoni and Annalisa Bassi were some of them, just to name a couple».
Do you know other fans of Reggiana in US?
«Yes, a lot of Mike Piazza fans are happy to support. My friend Marlene and I talked about Reggiana everyday until the playoffs ended. Now we talk about New York Mets not doing so well which makes us look forward for rhe next Reggiana season».
Who is your favourite player?
«Alessandro Cesarini».
Are you disappointed for the elimination in the semifinal?
«Yes, I hope that Reggiana could win playoffs».
What are your expectations for the next season?
«We have to make championship!».

«Yes, I have a scarf and a few magazines that a fan sent me».
One day will you come in Italy to support Reggiana?
«It would be a dream come true...».
